“Soaking Up the Love for Every Street, Neighborhood,
and City.”

OUR ORIGINS
How it all began
Born in the summer of 1979, right here in Brooklyn, New York, during a time when the city was alive with grit, creativity, and endless energy. Growing up, Brooklyn wasn’t just where I lived—it was my teacher, my playground, and my greatest inspiration. The streets taught me about diversity, hustle, and pride. Every corner had a story, and I soaked it all in like a sponge.
As a kid of the '80s, my love for fashion came naturally. I’ve always been a mix of contradictions—part tomboy, part fashion lover. I lived for a good graphic tee or oversized sweatshirt but couldn’t resist the magic of fancy dresses and shoes. I’d pair sneakers with everything, from ripped jeans to something way too dressy, because why not? That’s Brooklyn style: raw, effortless, and unapologetic.
Summer Seventy Nine was born out of that love. It’s my way of celebrating the places and moments that shape us. This brand is more than just clothes—it’s about repping the neighborhoods, streets, and cities we hold close to our hearts. It’s about capturing the vibe of where we’re from and sharing it with the world.
Every piece I design reflects my roots and my journey, blending the comfort of streetwear with the individuality that makes each of us unique. Brooklyn raised me, and the '80s gave me my edge. Summer Seventy Nine is my tribute to all of it—the culture, the style, and the pride of loving where you’re from.
So here’s to the neighborhoods we carry with us, wherever we go.
